FOUNDER & PATIENT ADVOCATE

Meet Stefanie Jones

TJC Group Pty Ltd was not established as a traditional medical tourism business.

Its origins lie in a personal journey that highlighted a growing challenge facing many Australians: access to affordable, high-quality healthcare.

Founder and Director, Stefanie Jones, became increasingly aware of the significant barriers many Australians face when seeking both essential and elective healthcare. Through her own research, personal experiences, and extensive engagement with patients, a recurring theme emerged.

Many Australians were delaying or abandoning treatment altogether due to cost.

Why It Started

Particularly within the dental sector, patients were frequently being quoted treatment plans costing tens of thousands of dollars, often placing essential care beyond the reach of ordinary families.

Full-mouth rehabilitation, dental implants, oral surgery, and complex restorative treatment had become financially unattainable for many Australians, forcing some patients to live with chronic pain, reduced function, declining oral health, and a diminished quality of life.

Rather than accepting the status quo, Stefanie began researching alternative treatment options available throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The Research Journey

What started as personal research quickly evolved into a broader investigation into healthcare accessibility, provider standards, patient outcomes, clinical governance, and the realities of international medical tourism.

Unlike many organisations operating within the sector, the approach adopted by TJC Group was never based on advertising claims, commission-driven referrals, or promotional marketing.

Instead, a simple philosophy was developed:

  • Facilities should be visited.
  • Providers should be assessed.
  • Qualifications should be verified.
  • Patients should be educated.

This commitment to due diligence and transparency became the foundation upon which TJC Group was built.

Advocacy Over Advertising

What started as personal research quickly evolved into a broader investigation into healthcare accessibility, provider standards, patient outcomes, clinical governance, and the realities of international medical tourism.

This commitment to due diligence and transparency became the foundation upon which TJC Group was built.

Building the Community

The community quickly gained momentum and has since evolved into one of Australia’s most active and rapidly growing patient-focused groups dedicated to healthcare options in Bali.

Today, the group serves as a valuable resource for Australians seeking information on dental treatment, plastic surgery, cosmetic procedures, dermatology, wellness services, and broader healthcare options available throughout Bali.

The growth of the community has also highlighted another important reality.

Whilst cosmetic procedures remain popular, a substantial proportion of enquiries relate to essential healthcare needs rather than elective treatments.

Dental reconstruction, oral surgery, dental implants, reconstructive procedures, and specialist medical care frequently represent life-changing treatment rather than cosmetic enhancement.

Boots on the Ground in Bali

A defining characteristic of TJC Group remains its genuine operational presence in Bali.

Unlike many organisations operating remotely, TJC Group maintains an ongoing commitment to direct engagement with providers and facilities.

Regular visits to Bali allow for site inspections, provider meetings, facility assessments, and ongoing monitoring of developments within Indonesia’s rapidly evolving healthcare sector.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, TJC Group benefits from close proximity to Bali, enabling frequent travel and ongoing relationship development with healthcare providers, hospitals, clinics, and medical tourism stakeholders.

This “boots on the ground” approach has become one of the organisation’s defining characteristics and a key reason for the trust it has established within its growing community.

Supporting Access to Care

Many patients report that rising healthcare costs within Australia have forced them to explore alternative options, including personal loans, healthcare finance products, and other funding pathways in order to access treatment.

In response, TJC Group has expanded its support services to help patients better understand their treatment options, navigate the healthcare landscape, and access information regarding lawful funding solutions that may assist them in proceeding with care.

“My job is to advocate for the patient — not to sell a clinic.”

— Stefanie Jones, Founder, TJC Group

Our Mission Today

Today, TJC Group continues to operate with a clear mission:

To improve access to healthcare through education, advocacy, transparency, and informed decision-making.

As Bali continues to emerge as one of Southeast Asia’s most significant healthcare destinations, TJC Group remains committed to helping Australians access reliable information, understand their options, and make informed choices regarding their healthcare journey.

Because healthcare decisions should be based on knowledge, not marketing.
