PROVIDER CREDENTIALS & SAFEGUARDS

What Individuals Should Check

  • Provider legal identity, facility location and relevant licensing information.
  • Practitioner full name, current registration and stated qualifications or specialty.
  • Who will perform each stage of treatment and where it will occur.
  • Facility and anaesthetic support appropriate to the proposed procedure.
  • Consent, pricing, aftercare, complaint and emergency escalation arrangements.
  • Current accreditation information where a specific facility actually holds it.

Facility licensing, accreditation, practitioner registration, professional qualifications and association membership are different matters and should not be presented as interchangeable.

TJC may review selected provider-supplied and publicly available information as part of its non-clinical provider-information process. The scope varies between providers. This is not a clinical audit, accreditation, regulatory approval, certification or guarantee of practitioner competence, treatment suitability, safety, quality or outcomes.

Where a credential is published, identify the exact provider or practitioner, branch, issuing organisation, status/date, source and date last reviewed.

What Qualifications Matter?

The organisation strongly encourages patients to understand who will be performing their treatment and whether that individual possesses recognised specialist qualifications relevant to the procedure being undertaken.

Our Guiding Principle

No Provider Receives Automatic Endorsement

The presence of a provider within TJC Group’s educational resources should not be interpreted as a guarantee of outcomes.

Healthcare decisions remain highly individual and patients are encouraged to undertake their own research, seek independent advice where appropriate, and satisfy themselves that a particular provider is suitable for their specific circumstances.

TJC Group’s role is to support informed decision-making through education, transparency, and due diligence.

Our Guiding Principle:

Trust should be earned through transparency, qualifications, clinical standards, and patient outcomes — not through marketing alone.

Clinical Competence

The organisation seeks evidence that practitioners possess the appropriate qualifications, specialist training, experience, and scope of practice for the procedures they perform.

Particular attention is paid to:

  • Specialist registration and qualifications
  • Procedure-specific experience
  • Continuing professional development
  • Clinical governance frameworks
  • Evidence-based treatment approaches

Patient Safety

Patient safety remains the highest priority.

Assessment may include:

  • Emergency response capabilities
  • Infection prevention and control measures
  • Sterilisation protocols
  • Surgical safety procedures
  • Anaesthetic support arrangements
  • Post-operative monitoring systems
  • Management of complications

Facility Standards

The physical environment and operational standards of the facility are also considered.

Areas of review may include:

  • Cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Equipment quality and maintenance
  • Patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Accessibility and patient comfort
  • Recovery and observation facilities
  • Hospital admission pathways where appropriate

Transparency & Communication

Providers should demonstrate a willingness to communicate openly with patients regarding:

  • Risks and complications
  • Alternative treatment options
  • Expected outcomes
  • Recovery requirements
  • Pricing and inclusions
  • Follow-up arrangements

TJC Group places significant value on transparency and informed consent.
